Welcome to Kent’s Lung Transplant

Kent was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in April of 2007. Pulmonary Fibrosis, a generally fatal illness, is a disease that involves scarring of the lung. This scarring is irreversible and affects your ability to breathe and obtain enough oxygen.

Lung transplantation is life-saving BUT it is expensive. The recovery period (barring no complications) is 4 to 6 months. The cost of uninsured medical expenses alone will be taxing on a Social Security only income.  While being accepted as a candidate for double lung transplant has been a blessing, the expenses that come along with it will continue to increase.

In addition to uninsured medical expenses, Kent will need to take immune supressent medications for the rest of his life. Learn more about how you can help ease this financial burden.
